While he is catching criminals at Axis Chemicals, he accidentally causes Jack Naiper, the right-hand man to Gotham's king Mobster, to fall into a vat of acid. Jack survives, but his appearance has been altered. His skin is now white, hair green, lips blood-red, and his mouth has been forced into a twisted smile. His sanity disappears as well, and he sets out to destroy the entire city. Batman must take the “Joker” down.

The Batman game follows the movie perfectly in the fact that there is a level for just about every scene in the film. You actually get to drop Naiper into the vat of acid, pilot the Batmobile and Batwing, save Vicki Vale in the Flugelheim Museum, and much more. There is even a few animated sequences and introductions.

The difficulty for this Batman game is just about right. It's easy early on, but later, the jumps and amount of villains makes it the perfect difficulty. You should have the game beaten without too much trouble.The graphics in Batman game reflect the talent of the programmers at Sunsoft. Every pixel looks just like it's film counterpart. The Oscar-winning design for Gotham City is well-preserved. The colors for each character are perfect also. Instead of black, Batman is a dark gray. Extreme detail is all over this game.The music fits Batman well, while not sticking to the film's musical score. It's all pulse-pounding, rhythmic tunes that will have you humming in no time. The title screen music is dark, eerie, and appropriate to Batman.
