Peace, Death! 2

If you were a fan of the first game then you are going to be an even bigger fan of Peace, Death 2 by AZAMATIKA. This casual indie game has you take control of a reaper and its up to you to decide who gets to spend the rest of time in the blissful light of heaven or damned to eternity in the fires of hell. This title is jam packed full of charm and wit to a point that very few other games could ever get close to. If you’re after an excellent game and the perfect sequel, keep reading.

Gameplay

So, the gameplay is pretty straightforward as it has you judging people and sending them to heaven or hell. The people you judge are known as ‘Clients’ and these people must be sent to where they need to go. The difficult part is that it is not always clear cut on where they belong and you have to do a little research into their profiles and make that call for yourself.

The profiles can tell you a lot or not very much and that leaves it up in the air a little bit as to where they should go. Thankfully, after you have made the initial decision, the game does notify you on whether the decision was correct or not. The clients have some junk that they bring with them every now and again and you can claim them and gain some benefits from their usage.

Through your ascension up the bureaucratic ladder, you will earn a little bit of money after each level and you can decide what you want to spend it on. There are also things like surprise inspections and other beings that make your job a lot harder, its up to you to figure out how to sort these issues out.

Visuals

The visuals in this title are outstanding and provide a whole bunch of gags and laughs by themselves. The writing is great, but the many different characters you see will have a lot of references to pop culture and it makes for a brilliant “oh I know who that is” moment. You would be surprised at all the people they have faithfully recreated in these titles fantastic pixelated art style. As though it was Sally Face or Lisa: The Painful but with themes a little less serious, there is something minimalist but charming about the way it all looks.

Music

The music is absolutely banging. If you are looking for a title that makes your head bob all the while you’re playing it then this is absolutely a game you should be looking into.

Rock and roll with some unique synthetic melodies will keep you listening long after you’ve stopped playing. These are tunes to jam to in your spare time. Utterly fantastic.
