Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis

Square Enix’s most famous title has developed a very loyal following, and a compelling universe that has become increasingly complex to keep track of, especially for newcomers. Final Fantasy VII is a game that has an extremely extensive lore that spanned multiple years and titles. With Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis a big part of the spin-offs and adjacent titles that populate the game’s rich story will be seen compiled in one single title, sometime in 2022. many other games that are part of its story.

New Final Fantasies

Ever Crisis was announced along with the Final Fantasy VII Remake version for the Playstation 5. It gave us a glimpse of what it will offer, and it for sure is riding on the huge success that the remake was, and to further hype the release of its next part.

We were given a short glimpse of what is in store, and what’s even more important, it will be free. You will only be able to play it on iOS and Android devices. In its reveal, we also got to see how the game will look like.

Only the original Final Fantasy VII was shown, and while it looks similar to the 1997 version, it has improved graphics, the combat will be turned based, and graphics during battles will be the same as the remake version. At the very end of the reveal video, it also gave us a little glimpse of how Crisis Core looks, while it didn’t show if the combat will have upgraded graphics, from what was shown its visuals will be almost the same as the original Final Fantasy VII.

Turn-based Releases

Square-Enix plans on releasing monthly episodes, and it is still a mystery if it will follow the game chronological or release order. Two titles have been announced to take part in this collection, but during the Ever Crisis announcement trailer, no gameplay was shown. But players are expecting that both Dirge Of Cerberus and Before Crisis will get a revamp not only on their graphics but also gameplay-wise.

What took most fans by surprise, was the fact that Advent Children was on the list of games that will be available. Advent Children is an animated movie that takes place two years after the event of the original game and tells the story of Cloud and his allies working to destroy the remnants of Sephiroth. The movie confused a lot of its viewers, so telling its story through a game might make it easier for everyone to understand.

What To Expect

The game is set to be released sometime in 2022, and the good news is that it will be free for everyone to play. The director of the game, Tetsuya Nomura announced that the game will have gacha elements and that it will be used so that players can acquire special weapons. It was not divulged if players will need to use real money for that.
