Westview Academy

While I can see why Westview Academy may not click with everyone, I had a lot of fun with this XXX slice of life visual novel about a lucky young man at college. This is the kind of game where if someone were to say to me that it has every lewd college trope under the sun, I would not disagree with them. However, what it lacks in originality, it more than makes up for in fun. I was having a great time with this and I liked how they managed to balance humor and seriousness together really well.

To Be The Best

The setting for this game is the titular (he he) Westview Academy. We play as a young man who has quite the figure ahead of him. What I like about the way that the story is set up is that there are two very different ways that it can go. You can decide to be a superstar athlete and go down that path. Or you can embrace your creative side and become a musician and try for music superstardom. I found this to be quite a cool way to go about things and I was even more surprised at how different each of these paths ended up being.

The College Life For Me

While the two paths that Westview Academy puts before you are quite different. I will say that I can see how some people feel that this is not a very original game. Pretty much every trope and cliché you have ever seen in another college set game or even movie is here. We are talking about the jerk bully that gives you a hard time, the hottie you want to bang, and even a slutty teacher that has some extra credit for you. However, I will say that the game fully embraces these tropes and has a lot of fun with it. The writing goes from being serious to goofy and while that may throw some people off, I got a big kick out of it.

The Right Kind Of Pace

One thing that I am very glad for in Westview Academy is that they resisted them temptation to add in a bunch of sandbox exploration and stat grinding elements into the game. This is about as straight up a lewd visual novel as you can get and it is a pretty damn good one too. As I said, you have two very different ways that the story can go and within those paths are different choices that you have to make to move the story along. Nothing here was too brain teasing at all and it was very clear what you were supposed to choose. Still, I had a fun time with this and found that the whole pacing of the story was done really well and it was entertaining.

Pour Some Sugar On Me

Hey, I am never one to shy away from using an '80s rock reference, even if I am sure I have used it before! While I loved the setting, enjoyed the story, and found the gameplay choices to be fun. What ties this all together are some fantastic visuals that feature many nice looking characters. This is the kind of game where everyone is hot and I get a kick out of that. We do have a few lewd scenes that are animated here too. I have certainly played way more XXX lewd visual novels than this one here, but I did have a very hot and entertaining time with the sex scenes that this game offered me.

Pros:

• I liked how we could play as a rock star or a jock
• The game has great pacing

Cons:

• It does rely heavily on college tropes and cliches which may bother some people
• A few more sex scenes would have been nice
