View of Family

Today we are having a little look at a lewd sandbox style game called, View of Family. I came across this one by accident and thought that one of the characters had a bit of a “Liv Tyer” look about it so I thought what the hell and decided to give it a whirl. Now, I will warn you that the game is not finished. What is quite frustrating about that is that the game is about 90-95 percent complete! From what I understand, the game has been abandoned too so what is here is basically all there is to it!

We Are Family!

As the title of the game suggests, View of Family is an incest style of game. Our MC is a dude in his early 20s and he lives with his loving mother, innocent younger sister, and slutty older sister… actually most of the chicks in the game are on the loose side in this town. There is not much to the story at all here, the characters are about as one dimensional as you can get and while it is not terrible, there is not much in the way of what feels like meaningful character development. Still, despite that being said there is enough to keep you moving along.

A Little Bump & Grind

I think if View of Family had actually been finished tightening up the gameplay might have been one of the things that the developer would have done. It is not bad and very typical of what we have seen a million times before in these lewd visual novel/sandbox style games. You have to click around the map, be at the right place, talk to characters and grind affection stats. There is nothing here that is bad and while I say “grind” I have certainly seen it be worse in other games. It does on a few occasions suffer from “what the hell am I supposed to do?” though which can be frustrating.

Oh, My Sweet Nicole!

The thing that kept me playing View of Family was actually the way that the game looked. There are some very nice-looking characters in this game and Nicole was by a mile my favorite. I have always had a crush on Liv Tyler ever since her role in the Kevin Smith movie, Jersey Girl and the fact that Nicole looked like her was something that I thought was really cool. There is a decent amount of lewd content in the game and I found that the ratio the game dished it out felt pretty fair.

I have to say that View of Family is not a terrible game at all. It is a bit of a shame that the developer could not get this one over the line when it feels like they were so close to doing so. Seriously with just a little bit more work on this game to tighten up the gameplay and actually give an ending, I probably would have scored this game a whole point higher.

Pros:

• While I am not into incest stories, this one is better than most
• It has some nice-looking ladies
• It is not as grindy as many other lewd sandbox games are
• As I have said a million times in this review, one of the chicks looks like Liv Tyler!

Cons:

• The game is not finished so there is no ending
• It sometimes can be hard to know what the game wants you to do
