Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo

Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo is a visual interactive story by Japanese developer Akabeisoft2, where troubled teenagers try to get on the path to correction. This game is quite voluminous, running about forty hours.

A game for shut-ins or a deep visual novel?

Akabeisoft2 games are often thought of as "recluse games where the main character just has pretty girls chasing after him" (not that that statement is too far from the truth...). This game tells a story that looks at the characters of people and the structure of society in general, and has universal content, so it can appeal to people of all ages.

Kenichi Morita and Sachi Mitsuhiro

A suspicious-looking man walks along a country road dotted with flowering sunflowers, muttering something to himself while holding a gray case in his hand. Yes, that's the main character in this movie, Kenichi Morita! Kenichi Morita is a guy who aspires to be a student in an elite educational institution, and is in charge of re-educating bullies and people "too free" who have gone the wrong way. Now he arrives in a provincial town for a graduation exam. As his final exam assignment, Kenichi Morita is assigned to re-educate three girls. He spends time at school with the other girls, who must obey the rules in order to become on the path to goodness. His charges must pull themselves together and finally grow up. One such girl is Sachi Mitsuhiro, who constantly dates men for sex, drinks alcohol and takes drugs. The girl is constantly in debt because of the casino. Sachi Mitsuhiro does not know what love is, she only feels sexual attraction. The story is that the girl goes from a life of running away from her own weaknesses to a life of facing herself. Morita helps her on this difficult journey.

In addition to Sachi Mitsuhiro, the main character helps two other girls, Oone Touka and Natsuzaki Hinata.

Nice details

As with any game, there are pluses here:

• When we talk about a Japanese visual novel, it's imperative to mention the main song. "Red Sky Love Song" is a melancholy composition. The orchestral chorus adds tragedy to the song. Only after playing the game was I able to understand the meaning of the lyrics and I didn't regret it
• The game also has a dash of humor. The writers even introduced a "buffoon" character, if I may say so - Uzuki Sepia. This is a man who abruptly appears in mundane scenes and turns them from boring to funny
• The philosophical theme of this novella is "human weakness and strength." The short story perfectly shows the bad and positive sides of man's character
