Pokemon Academy Life

I am pretty blown away by what Pokémon Academy Life is! The amount of lewd parodies of this series is truly staggering, but this is one of the most ambitious and highly polished that I have played. I guess you would have to put it into the lewd visual novel category, but there is way more to it than just that as we do have a battle system (all be it a rather basic one) here that gives you a bit more action and makes this feel like a more authentic experience if you know what I am saying.

A Slice Of High School Life

Out of all the Pokémon porn games that I have played, Pokémon Academy Life is truly one of the best. Rather than having the typical “kids! That the Pokémon series is known for. Here we play as Red (or a name of your choosing) and he is a high school/college student who is learning to become the very best while at college or high school. It's a neat take on the standard Pokémon formula and while I do think if you are a fan you will appreciate this more, being a fan of the series is not essential to enjoy this.

I Wanna Date The Very Best

I already touched on it, but Pokémon Academy Life is a slice of life style of story. While we are trying to become the best Pokémon trainer that we can, we also have our high school life to live as well. There are a handful of love interests that we can pursue in the game and the social aspect of things here is a major part of the experience. I would say that it has a similar kind of vibe to something like Persona 5 or the recent Persona 3 Reload, to be honest with you as far as the dating and high school drama of the game goes and I mean that with the highest level of respect as I adore those games.

Style With A Whole Lot Of Substance

The visuals of Pokémon Academy Life are nothing short of breathtaking and even the more recent games like Pokémon Scarlet come nowhere close to matching how good this is. The anime style that they went for here is awesome and again, it does have a kind of Persona style about it that I love. Now, do not expect to see a whole load of XXX banging here, yes, I would still say that this is a lewd Pokémon game, but it is not just about our characters having hardcore sex like many other XXX games tend to go for. This one here has far more substance than just characters looking to get laid.

The Path Of A Pokémon Trainer

As far as the gameplay of Pokémon Academy Life goes, I found myself, engaged, interested, and fully into the plot just a few minutes into my game. You get to make various choices in the game and this is where the dating sim aspect of the game comes into play. There are many interesting love interests in the game and I was legit interested in more than one of them which means, multiple playthroughs are essential. The battle system is rather basic and it may take a little while to figure it out. However, if you look at the battle system as more of making visual novel choices, you will get the idea of what you are supposed to do.

Pros:

• This is a clever adult version of Pokémon
• I loved the high school/college style setting of the game
• They try to put Pokémon battles in the game in an interesting way
• This game is visually stunning

Cons:

• It may not have the hardcore sex you are looking for in a lewd game
• The battle system is a tad on the awkward side at first
