The game also allows you to play 5 adorable mini-games that let you do things like herd bunnies or run through the city collecting stars.

As you play the game, you can unlock new items to glamor Sunny and the other ponies with. This includes jewelry and other accessories. Sunny’s friends, Hitch, Izzy, Zipp and Pipp can all receive glamours as well. This unlockable content adds a bit more to the game, and gives you a reason to go back in to win more points.

New 3D look

In the past, My Little Pony games such as My Little Pony: Pinky Pie’s Party has been in the classic cartoon style it has been drawn in since the 80s. This new game sheds that look with a 3D pony that makes the pony’s look oddly pug-like with their short noses.

While it’s up to fans to decide whether they like the new look, Maretime Bay does appear to be decently detailed, and although the pony’s look and move oddly, their strange appearance is authentic to the movie related to these characters. One of the artists faithfully reconstructed the characters to move and look exactly as they did in the movie featuring these characters, My Little Pony, The Next Generation. This was not easy—not only did Hasbro give the developers a short lead time of just 11 months, but they also gave them models incompatible with the software for the game, causing them to have to be reconstructed.

Keeps the theme of My Little Pony

The game holds up well to the heartwarming and uplifting My Little Pony series. Although many fans who grew up with the previous reboot, Friendship is Magic, were skeptical about these new characters, they have so far been well received. If you’re a My Little Pony fan who is skeptical of new ponies to love and play with, these characters are authentic members of Equestria.
