Muse Dash

Muse Dash is one of the strangest and most addictive rhythm games I have played in a very long time. This is a game that is currently available for pretty much every system you can imagine, but I have played the game on PC and Nintendo Switch. I make a point to mention this because the Switch version of the game lets you use touch controls which make things a tad easier.

Music Is The Weapon

I have been staring here for a few minutes trying to think of the best way to describe the story of Muse Dash. I just cannot do it justice! I have no clue what the heck is actually going on here, but that is not a bad thing. This game is completely over the top on purpose and it looks like an anime that has taken about 50 shots of kawaii sauce! Basically, you pick from one of three super cute characters and you need to save the world!

Style And Substance

As far as the visuals go, this game is a real treat for the eyes. It is one of the most colorful and over the top games I have ever had the pleasure to play. It is so colorful it will make you want to be sick and I mean that in the best possible way. Despite all the stuff going on the game is very clear so it is always nice and easy to see what is going on.

Music is a big part of any rhythm game and Muse Dash is no different. This game has a very awesome soundtrack and it is fitting to the over the top action that is going down on the screen. The game is a visual and audio tour de force and it makes it a game that will certainly stick with you for a very long time after you have played it.

Fight To The Beat

Now, let's talk about how this game actually plays. You get to select one of three different characters and each character has their own style, personality, and moves. You then get to pick an Elfin which will help you as you go through a level. There is also a selection of outfits that you can unlock and as well as making your character look different outfits can also give you different buffs.

Muse Dash has many different levels and each level is basically a song. You need to fight and dodge your way along each level and you do this to the beat. It is the kind of thing that sounds easy, but it is much more challenging than you would think. You have a health meter, but you also have an energy meter which when filled thanks to you kicking butt and doing epic combis lets you do a massive special move.

Fun For All

I was going to say fun for all the family, but the big bouncy boobs and tiny outfits might not make that the case! However, this game has multiple difficulty levels and it does let you tinker with things so you can cater the experience to be one that is fun for you. I really like this as it makes the game much more accessible for a large number of players.

9

I had a great time with Muse Dash, so much so that it is a game that I could not be any happier to recommend to you guys. It looks fantastic, has an awesome soundtrack, and best of all the game is a true joy to play. It is the kind of game you can play for just 10 minutes or so, but it is also the kind of game that can steal an hour or two of your life away at a time as it is so addictive.

Pros:

  • I love how bright and over the top things are
  • Each of the characters feels, looks and acts differently
  • Tons of outfits for you to unlock
  • It is cool how the game is accessible for everyone
  • It has a great soundtrack

Cons:

  • It might be too cute for some!
  • I think certain versions of the game have different tracks!
