I think that Larry is a true gaming icon and when I heard about Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry I was very excited. I do not care what anyone says, I have enjoyed the majority of his games, and this time a new German studio was taking a crack at latterly bringing Larry back from the past to modern times. This is a lewd, silly and potty humor filled game… and that is what I love about it. If you are looking for high brow comedy, this is not for you!

Going Back To The Future!

The story of Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry is a lot of fun. Larry wakes up in a dark room and when he walks out, he has somehow been transported back from his time to our modern day! Things are very strange and he has a hard time getting his head around these devices called smartphones and how they rule our lives.

He runs into the woman of his dreams (well the latest one) at a giant company that makes the best smartphones, Prune. Here he meets Faith and he is in love and wants nothing more than to bang her. Well, she has standards and tells him that she only hooks up with people who have a high score on the dating and hook up app, Timber!

Gagging On Gags

Look, the story that Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry is telling is filled with juvenile humor that I find hilarious, but I get why some people will not. The thing is, the game for all its gross-out lines and dirty jokes, turns out to have a pretty strong message by the end of it and that was something that I felt was pretty cool.

Staying Smooth Larry, Staying Smooth

The visuals are very well done. It has that classic 2D style that the original Larry games were known for and that remake that took place a few years back. However, there is a very high-level of polish to this game and it all looks very slick. Seeing Larry interact with this new world which has many different locations is really cool. The game is also fully voice acted and they do a great job in delivering all this cringy and hilarious dialogue.

Pointing And Clicking, You Know The Deal

The gameplay of Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry is that of a classic 2D point-and-click -adventure style game. If you have played one of the past Larry games (not the PS2 era) then you will know what to expect here. It has a rather slow pace to it as you go around, talk to people and figure out what you have to do.

The majority of the gameplay is made up of puzzles and using items to do something or combining certain items together. I did not think it was as cryptic as many other games of this genre are so that is a big plus.

Pros:

• Seeing Larry in modern times was a lot of fun
• I liked the slick visuals
• The voice acting really does a great job in bringing the story to life
• The gameplay is not too cryptic

Cons:

• The potty and juvenile humor is not for everyone
• Not sure there is much replay value here, to be honest
