Oh yeah, Football Manager 2023 is the latest installment of a series that I have been playing for years. It has gotten even better the last couple of years as I have been able to play it for free thanks to game pass. Today I want to share my thoughts with my fellow football fans on why I think once again, it is worth playing this game for another whole year! Plus, this is coming out just before the World Cup in 2022 and that is sure to get people even more infected with football fever…. I flat out refuse to call it soccer by the way! Here we are looking at the new gameplay features that have me excited this year.

The Champions!

As it has been in the past games, Football Manager 2023 has a goal of you becoming the greatest football manager around. Some people like to start in the lower leagues, while others like to take an already established top team and try to make them the ultimate dynasty. What they have added this year is the full license of Europe’s biggest competitions. We can now play in the Champions League, Europa League, and the Conference League. It is crazy to think this is the first time this series has had the full license for this, but it adds so much more drama and realism to the game.

Growing A Team For The Future

I am pretty sure that in Football Manager 2023, Tottenham Hotspur is going to be my team as they have been the last few years. Now, this is a team with fairly decent resources for me to grow my team. However, what I think is really neat about this year's game is how much closer of an eye you can keep on your team. You can keep a closer eye on your youth players that are coming through which is great. I like buying new players, but I get even more of a kick out of bringing a young player up through the ranks and turning them into a superstar.

Pushing You All The Way

I have always thought that this series is quite challenging and Football Manager 2023 is taking the challenge to a whole new level. They have done a lot of work with the AI this year and the AI is going to not let you have an easy time. They have made it so that the managers you are competing against will make much smarter decisions in terms of their tactics, team management, and transfers to make sure that you do not have an easy time of things. Hopefully, over the long time, we are playing the game, the AI will not become more unfair than fun, but I have no reason to think that is the case.

Doing It For The Fans

If the fans are unhappy, a manager usually does not last all that long, and keeping the fans happy is a big part of Football Manager 2023. There is a new system in the game called the “supporter confidence system” and the idea here is that you have a much closer relationship with the fans. You want them to be happy about what they are seeing on the pitch, but also, they need to be happy with how the club is operating off the pitch as well. It is another thing that you have to keep a close eye on.

Look, if you are a fan of this series, you do not need me to try and convince you that Football Manager 2023 is a game you need to play. People who love this series are going to get it no matter what. It is my hope that it is one Game Pass, more people may be willing to give the game a try. It does take a while to get into and it does demand a ton of dedication from the player, but I find it so worth it. This is a series that gives me hours and hours of entertainment over the year, well until the next one is released!
