CRYMACHINA

CRYMACHINA is an action RPG that just came out of nowhere and hit me like a ton of bricks. I had no idea this game was even a thing until a friend turned me on to it. He sent me a link with a “looks like your type of game” message and he was right! It was added to my wish list right away and as I am so excited about the game, I thought that we could have a bit of fun by looking at a few of the things we know about this exciting looking sci-fi action RPG.

You Have Been Chosen

The game has an awesome sci-fi kind of story and that was what at first drew me to CRYMACHINA. In this world, a disease is running rampant and a young girl called Lebel is pretty much at death's door and is about to accept her fate. However, she hears a strange voice and then before she knows it, she awakens in a very strange place, a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is fighting to come back and survive.

What It Means To Be Human

The twist of the story here is that CRYMACHINA takes place in a world where synthetic beings want to become human! We have three main characters that fit this profile and they want to become human and live human lives. However, it raises the question, what does it really mean to be human? I am just eating this stuff up and I think the premise here is fantastic and I so hope that the story nails the landing. From what I have seen so far, the translation seems great so there should be no trouble following what seems like a very complex and deep story.

The Battlegrounds Of Eden

So far, the gameplay of CRYMACHINA looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. It appears like this is some very fast-paced action RPG stuff. We have different main characters that we can play as, but as well as doing all kinds of hack and slash kind of stuff and faster paced attacks. The game also has a layer of strategy where you have to think about what you are doing and make the best use of your abilities and the various things, skills, and upgrades that you unlock as you progress through the game. It sounds like it is going to walk a fine line between being a whole lot of fun, but also a rather deep gameplay experience as well.

Making Those Social Links

As well as waging wars in Eden, CRYMACHINA also has another main area and that is The Imitation Garden. This is where you can go between action sections of the game and what you do here can be crucial to what goes down in the battlegrounds of Eden. You can customize your weapons here and get ready for the next encounter. However, it is the whole social aspect of getting to know the characters and seeing them become closer that I think is going to make this stuff so great. It reminds me of the downtime you have in games like Persona 5.

Pros:

• I am loving the world that they have created here
• The characters are brought to life by well-known voice actors
• The action RPG stuff looks like a lot of fun
• Getting to know the characters better in the Imitation Garden seems very appealing

Cons:

• The whole vibe of the game may be a bit too “anime” for some people
• I hope that the story does not go off the rails and become hard to follow
