Cooking Simulator

While Cooking Simulator and Overcooked are two very different styles of game. They both are about cooking and they both provided me with a fun, but different experience. This is a much more realistic take on the world of cooking. However, I will say that it offers the same kind of fun as a more lighthearted game such as Overcooked does.

From The Bottom To The Top

The goal of the campaign is to start at the very bottom and build your reputation as a cook and your restaurant up to legendary status! The campaign is way more addictive than you think and I really like the way Cooking Simulator has you progress through the game.

The game does not overwhelm you with recipes, food, cooking items, and so on. It eases you in and in the early part of the game you learn a great deal during each of the early stages and it is up to you to take this knowledge and use it going forward. You can unlock different skills and perks as you progress which can make you a better cook and also make your life easier.

It is worth noting that there is also a sandbox mode here. This is a great deal of fun and you pretty much have everything at your disposal to make whatever dishes you want. It can be a good way to not just screw around, but also learn how to make more advanced dishes properly.

Kitchen Heaven

The kitchen that you are working in when you play Cooking Simulator is fully stocked. You have cookers, griddles, pots, pans, knives, and more. When it comes to food you have a ton of stuff ranging from meat to vegetables. The game has over 80 recipes for you to learn and it is much easier said than done.

You need to cook each piece properly, this includes setting timers so stuff does not burn, stirring regularly and adding the right ingredients and the right time. It can be a lot to deal with and that is why I always like to get the stuff I am going to need out first and then start making the dish.

Trust me, prep time is the key to making some of the more complicated dishes that this game throws your way! It can be a very tense experience, especially when you have a couple of timers going off at once! However, as you get better and better at the game it is almost like a Zen-like experience as you complete dish after dish.

Pros:

• The game is a very fun experience
• Over 80 dishes for you to make
• The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need
• It is challenging but fun
• There is a sandbox mode as well as a campaign to enjoy

Cons:

• I do think that some kind of multiplayer would have been fun
• Some might take a while to get into the game
