After Invasion

I have to say that I had very high hopes for After Invasion. This is a game from a first-time developer so you have to take that into consideration when playing it. It is a lewd visual novel style game and I think that he had some really cool ideas here and it legit was a game that I was pretty excited to try out.

Aliens Are Among Us

On one hand, After Invasion has a tremendous story. I am a huge sci-fi nerd so any time a lewd game promises me a lot of sex with a good sci-fi story I am interested. The plot here is that there was this strange plague on the planet, it was released by Aliens to destroy us. While many died, many also developed superpowers as a result of the plague, and humanity fought back!

I love the idea of this story; it sounds so cool! Add to this the fact that some humans were immune and you have a very interesting dynamic, plus there is an alien traitor that wants to help. The problem is, this story should be super serious in its execution and there are times when it is trying to play things for laughs and it completely takes me out of it.

Clicking Around The Universe

If you have played a 3D lewd visual novel game before, you will know what to expect with After Invasion. You have to click on various areas of the screen to interact with things, talk to people, and enter and exit rooms. You can also have different combat abilities which I think was a very neat idea.

You have different choices to make and it is up to you to figure out what the right things to say and do are in the story to ensure that it moves along. There are many paths, but I am not sure all of them are complete as it feels like there is a fair bit of content missing.

A War-Torn World

The presentation of After Invasion is rather hard to talk about. There are some great looking characters here and a fair bit of imagination is clearly at play. The problem with the presentation is that when it is good, it is very good. There are some awesome sex scenes in this game for example.

The problem is really with the more static stuff, the visual novel area of the game. the characters and the backgrounds can feel like they have been slapped together in a very quick way and it just looks odd.

Pros:

• For a first effort, it is good
• I loved the idea of the story
• Some interesting looking characters for you to interact with
• Plenty of hot sex content in the game
• The idea of the superpowers is something that I really liked

Cons:

• The attempts at being funny in the story feel very out of place
• The presentation needs quite a bit of work
