When I saw the first trailer for Long and Hard... Summer! I knew that this was going to be a game that greatly appealed to me! What we have here is not your typical lewd visual novel or even a lewd sandbox game. What we have here is what they are referring to as a lewd “open world dating sim” and that is truly the best way to look at what this game is offering you. In many ways, it has a kind of RPG feel to it and as I write this, you can check out a free demo of this game to see if it is what you are looking for.

Summer Schooling!

The main character that we play as in Long and Hard... Summer! Is in his first year of college where he is studying to be a video game designer. While he loves the idea of becoming a big shot game designer, he does not exactly work very hard! This leads to him failing his first year at college and he has to take a bunch of classes during the summer to make up for it so his summer is a bust right?

Summertime Loving, Loving In The Summertime!

Nice little Regular Show reference for you there. Anyway, while this game is prepared to admit his summer is a bust and that he has to work hard. The thing is, he has a lot of distractions here that will lead him onto the wildest sexual summer of his life, but he needs to balance things right and make sure that he is still passing his classes, but also having fun as well. Plus, his parents are mad as hell and say that he has to get a job and pay his own rent so that is another thing that he has to do!

So Much To Do, So Little Time!

I think that they have a great premise here with Long and Hard... Summer! And that premise is very well realized in the gameplay. It is played with a top-down style and we are pretty much free to move around this whole college town and the open world aspect of the game gives us a real sense of freedom. You need to go to class, go to work and make money, but there are also these chicks you have to try and bang. There are three main love interests being a fellow student, your stepsister, and even a sexy big busted teacher too! There is a lot to do in this game and while some games like this can become a “where the hell am I supposed to go?” kind of game, I feel that the open world aspect here never feels like you are stuck with what to do.

With a slick look to it thanks to those incredible cutscenes and portraits along with the retro style gameplay. Long and Hard... Summer! Is a very fun lewd RPG that has a great deal going for it. I like the open world nature of the gameplay here and feel that trying to score with chicks and have a fun summer is at the forefront. You do also have to make sure that your “professional” life is in order too as you make money and complete your studies as well.
