Warsong
Warsong also know as Lungrisser or Langrisser – Japanese Titles.
Long ago in a strange world full of magic and mystery, there was a sword of unlimited power called Warsong. The Baltia family realized that this magical sword was so powerful that it could destroy the world if it were to fall into the wrong hands. This family sealed it away where it could cause no harm.
The evil emperor Pythion knew of Warsong and its vaunted powers, and he declared war on Baltia when they refused to relinquish it to him. Thus sets the stage for Warsong, a war simulation
Warsong is the only title of a series of famous strategy games, known as Langrisser in Japan, to ever see an official release outside of Japan.
In Warsong your mission to choose commanders, assign soldiers, deploy troops, prepare for battle, and command your army. It is set in a typical medieval fantasy setting and features traditional
The generals fight alongside their units, however they are much more powerful and are able to use more diverse commands than just moving and attacking, like recovering a small amount of HP or casting spells. Each unit has certain strengths and weaknesses; for example soldiers are good against archers but weak against cavalry etc. Combat is also influenced heavily by terrain types. When two units engage in combat a small animation, similar to those seen in Advance Wars or Fire Emblem, is shown. Each of the twenty combat scenarios has different conditions for winning and losing.
Before beginning a campaign, it is recommended that you study the conditions of victory, the elements of the terrain, and the abilities of the armies. Manage the troops, select your mission commanders, and pray for victory; you're the only hope the kingdom has.
