Red Zone is a 2D helicopter game.

Can you save the world from certain nuclear holocaust? When a madman named Ivan Retovitz steals a load of the USSR's nuclear arsenal, it's your job to command a team of covert troops in an effort to defeat him, in 24 hours or less! Pilot the AH-648 Apache fighter and negotiate treacherous underground bunkers to find Retovitz and put Earth at ease. Use the game's real-time zoom able map to find your targets, and then take-off across fully textured environments. Full-motion video sequences deliver maximum action, and intuitive controls make the game easy to pick up. Real 3D views allow you to look at objects from all sides, and each stunning level is a mission all its own. The clock is ticking…

In each stage of Red Zone, you fly an Apache helicopter into enemy territory, attempting to wipe out targets such as airfields or radar facilities. Most missions also include an “on foot” sequence that puts you in control of an individual soldier infiltrating an enemy complex. The mission and status screens are quite detailed, and they provide some critical clues (like “knock out the power facility first”). You can zoom in on the map in a manner that brings to mind Blade Runner, but the close-ups rarely provide additional information.
