The legends of King Nole are known through out the land. Long ago, the island of Melcatle was ruled under the thumb of the evil King Nole. After years of oppression, the citizens staged a revolt and raided the King's castle. But he was nowhere to be found, and neither was all the gold and treasure that belonged to the kingdom!

Now it's up to Nigel, the Landstalker, to hunt down the king and the fortune, and return both to Melcatle.

Landstalker is an action packed adventure, where you play Nigel, the Elf. You must search for the treasures of King Nole, and face many uncharted areas in your search for riches. Grab your sword and your booty bag, it's off to the island of Mercator to find the treasure.

A jovial fantasy yarn, Landstalker is the title that put Climax Entertainment on the map. Following the exploits of elvish treasure hunter, Nigel, and his pixie friend, Friday, they travel to a distant island to find the long lost treasure of King Nole.

As Nigel, you'll travel from town to town as you search for clues to the whereabouts of your target. Played from an elevated perspective, you'll have a unique view of all the action as you interact with NPCs, explore mysterious dungeons and caves, and engage in intense hand-to-hand battles with all kinds of evil creatures.

The game can draw many parallels to the Zelda series, due to the game’s mostly whimsical style and emphasis on item collecting. However, Landstalker is more meticulous, moving at a slower and more developed rate, with an abundance of towns and NPCs rounding out the cast.
