In the 22nd century, the Earth's population has concentrated into vast urban areas where crime runs rampant. The police, juries, and trials do not exist, there are only judges. Their only duty is to bring justice, and their only weapon is the Lawgiver, a gun that can fire armor-piercing, heat-seeking, and high explosive rounds. In this bleak future, Tech Judge Bean has escaped from prison and is out for revenge. The only person who can stop him is the man who put him away, Judge Dredd. Plug in a light gun and travel through 16 city levels battling Bean's army of androids as Dredd prepares the deliver the ultimate punishment, a death sentence. To make the task a little easier, power-ups like Rapid Fire are scattered throughout the levels. Play Judge Dredd and help him execute the law.
While you play as Dredd, you feel the power of authority and it feels good. The main point of the game is to do away with the scum and dealers and tons of other baddies by dispensing the law and doing right. From start to finish the adventure never lacks and variety in gameplay varies to give the game a cool mix and change of pace. You will enjoy getting the feeling of being in Dredd's shoes and putting away criminals away for good. Each 2-D level is huge and exciting. Each with tons of enemies to dispatch. Weapon pick-ups are frequent and many. You will have to experiment with them all to get the full effect and learn strategies on defeating certain enemies. A lot of things you come across in the game are interactive so keep an eye out. The controls flow ever so nicely with the game like the final piece of a perfect puzzle.
The graphics and controls in Judge Dredd – The Movie game are far superior to most movie-based games. Judge Dredd climbs ladders, shoots, kicks, flies, jumps, and makes arrests smoothly and quickly. His looks are near movie-quality, his uniform is neatly pressed, and he moves with natural realism. The levels are drawn with careful attention and the skill of a true artist.
Judge Dredd – The Movie features:
- 16 interactive levels,
- Variety of secret bonuses and power-ups,
- Variety of enemies and bosses.
It is the year 2139, regular, ordinary, peaceful living is no longer existent in this new world pent up inside self-contained city-blocks. Law and order can no longer be kept under control by ordinary cops and police force. A new breed of law enforcement is born, you are judge, jury, and executioner in one, you are Judge Dredd. It is up to you to maintain peace within the inner cities and keep it that way.
Judge Dredd is a platform action game based on the British comic book character of the same name and the 1995 movie that tarnished that name. The game was a multi system release so it fits the standard console jump/shoot/duck formula although it does add some unique twists such as wounding enemies so that they surrender and can be arrested.

This is a good game, but the music is not as good as the Super Nintendo version.
