Set 'em up, Knock 'em down!

Super Bowling by American Technos for the S-NES is on its way to "pinhead" fans everywhere. This game has it all; the fun, the sounds, the graphics and riotous game play that make it just as much fun as the real thing. A multi-function control bar enables you to select ball options such as power of your throw, angle of ball curve and which side of the lane the ball will travel. Even the amount of wax on the lane's floor can be adjusted for increased or reduced ball spin! Further options include variable ball weight, left or right handed bowler capability and difficulty select.

In the practice mode, you can hone your technique by practicing those tricky splits. In the golf mode, the pins are set randomly by the computer and you have three chances to get them all. Finally, turkey bowl is just like regular ten pin bowling.

Avoid the gutter and strike it big with Super Bowling!

Game Reviews

Anything can happen on 60-feet of well-oiled pine and maple.

The thrill of a three-strike turkey. The heartbreak of a 7-10 split. The embarrassment of a 10th frame gutter-ball.

Super Bowling brings you the excitement, challenge and all the realism of bowling... except for one thing: You don't have to wear someone else's shoes.

Features:

  1. Action for 1 to 4 Players
  2. Four Cool Characters With Unique Styles and Attributes
  3. Standard 10-Frame "Turkey" Bowling
  4. Unique Nine-Hole "Golf" Bowling Course
  5. Set Your Own Pins in Practice Mode

Bowling was never quite like this! Introducing Super Bowling by American Technos. Super Bowling has all the sights and sounds of a night at the bowling alley. Up to four players can compete and select their own ball weights. You can even adjust the amount of wax on the alley. You can enter a true league mode, or play in the practice series where you can practice before the game starts. Try the golf mode for even more fun.

If you're going to make a video adaptation of bowling, this is about as close as you can get to making it entertaining. Super Bowling gives you a wide range of options that include player selects and attributes, but goes even further by tossing trick games into the cart's very well executed play mechanics. Good for a fun time!

Who would ever thing that bowling could be a great S-NES sports cart? It is! Very humorous animations and tons of options in the set-up menu make this an exceptional simulation of the sport. It's innovative, fun and still challenging for the serious bowler. It really stands out as a 4 person game. Great for parties!

Super Bowling has a few cool features, I like being able to pick the different bowlers who are right or left handed. The game play is OK and easy to get used to. The multi-player mode is really cool when 4 people are playing. More should of been done with Mode 7 but as a whole this cart is fun to play.

Not bad, but not the best. I will expect some really good games in the future now that Super NES programming is getting better. The graphics are good, but the Mode 7 effects aren't the smoothest in the world. I would have liked to see more game variations to keep my interest past two or three games. Still, it is good.

Attention Bowlers! Hit the lanes with the first SNES bowling game. In American Technos' Super Bowling, up to four players can roll it out.

Three unique modes feature a behind-the-bowler perspective. When the ball is tossed, the perspective zooms in to see the ball spin between the gutters. The Turkey Bowl option is a regular bowling game, where you play against yourself or grab a friend or three. In the Golf Mode, you try to knockdown different spare setups, while keeping your score under par. The Practice Mode enables you to set your own pin configuration for practicing especially impossible shots like splits.

When it's your turn to bowl, you determine the ball's oil (which helps it glide down the hardwood), direction, spin, and power. The right direction is crucial for a strike. However, aiming your ball with the game's pointer and line graph is a little tricky. You have to have good hand/eye coordination to stop the pointer just where you want it.

In bowling, form and ball release are everything. With the colorful 16-bit graphics, backgrounds are busy, but are clear enough to see your proxy bowler's great form. The surfing music also keeps you pumped up.

Not everyone loves to bowl. If you do, pull out your bowling shirt and strike it up with Super Bowling.

ProTips:

  • To score a strike, aim your ball just left or right of the center. Then place your bowler just left of center if your ball is going to the right or just right of center if your ball is going to the left.
  • You can still move your bowler even after you've selected your direction

Whether you play in a tournament or just for fun, you'll enjoy hours of good times on the lanes in this "strikingly" attractive bowling simulator.
